Stopping into Octane on Knox Street in Dallas last week was a super inspiring and fun experience. So much so that Anna and I decided to start a new little series on Mosey! called ‘Retail Therapy’ where we show you some of our favorite spots in Dallas and Fort Worth that are worth a visit. We had the pleasure of speaking to one of the co-owners, Michael, about Octane, the brands they carry, and what they do that makes them unique. And indeed, I found this shop to be quite special.

First of all, I desired nearly everything on the shelves. From the color blocked blouses to the re-purposed vintage clutches, the merchandise Octane carries was really spot-on to my style (and Anna’s, too). In fact, even the found treasures (like turtle shells) were high on my “need this now” list. Octane carries brands like Equipment, Beyond Vintage, and Amanda Uprichard, with sprinkles of local designers like Chlorine (those glorious clutches) in the mix. For the gents, they’ve got Descendants of Thieves, Scott James, and hard-to-find Prps Jeans to name a few. What caught my eye most, though, was the old sewing machine displayed in the window. After chatting with Michael, who has a passion for denim, I learned that the machine was from an old Levi’s factory, and that Octane will hem your pants for you – with next day service.

Next time you’re brunching or cocktailing on Knox/Henderson, definitely make it a point to stop in to Octane – you’ll probably find something for yourself, your man, your lady, or your home you can’t live without. Trust us, you’ll love it all.

Meet the resident “Party Boss” at Eno’s Pizzeria, Morgan. As Anna was waiting on a table, she spotted Morgan’s little gold leapord flats. After giving her outfit a further look, she loved her elephant necklace and other heirloom and vintage accessories. Morgan, thanks for letting us snap your picture!

Goodness knows us Mosey! girls love Bravo. A lot. So when we got to meet Courtney Kerr at the What to Wear event last week, we were a little giggly. We were so happy to find Courtney willing to pose for a pic and chat with us about fashion, among other things. Don’t you love her stacked bracelets? My fave part of her outfit. Meet Courtney, and be sure to check out her blog, What Courtney Wore!

“Mixing and matching till my eyes bleed! Sounds silly, but I follow my own rule of 3: every outfit should have 3 different prints/patterns (plaid, check, stripe) or fabrics (cashmere, fur, lamè, sheer, leather) or hardware (gold, beads, pearls, silver, rose gold). Keeps things fun…fashion should never be taken too seriously!” (we totally agree)
